Coachwhip

Last week, a fine specimen from the ranks of my favorite snake species stopped by to say hi.

An Eastern Coachwhip snake, Masticophis flagellum flagellum, the long, sinewy tail resembling the end of a braided whip.

"The Coachwhip is lithe and graceful, its speed and maneuverability are unmatched". R. Mount, 'Reptiles and Amphibians of Alabama'.  Let's test that statement:

I declare it to be true!
